Project UNITE (Undoing Harm & Integrating Services) is a randomized controlled trial evaluating an integrated intervention that aims to increase engagement with safety optimization services among people who use drugs (PWUD) in communities with high overdose rates. The study will recruit 200 participants (100 in the Bronx, NY, and 100 in New Haven, CT) who report recent opioid misuse. Participants will be randomized to either the integrated intervention or Services as Usual (SAU). The total study period is one year and eight weeks, consisting of an eight-week intervention phase followed by follow-up assessments at three, six, and twelve months.
