Patient-Centered Stomach Cancer Prevention in Chinese Americans

The Patient-Centered Stomach Cancer Prevention in Chinese Americans study aims to assess the efficacy, adoption, and impact of an integrated intervention to improve adherence to recommended stomach cancer prevention guidelines (H. pylori test-and-treat) for at-risk Chinese Americans in New York City (NYC). Using a 2-arm randomized controlled trial design, approximately 144 Chinese American patients will be enrolled across NYC health care facilities. The integrated intervention involves a collaboratively developed and refined EHR-based clinical decision support system and CHW-led culturally and linguistically adapted stomach cancer prevention program for the Chinese American community, as well as a H. pylori test-and-treat intervention using linked EHR tools with a CHW-led culturally and linguistically adapted program to improve H. pylori eradication and treatment among vulnerable Chinese American patients.
