MISTER B Full Intervention Publication

This publication reviews how electronic health record (EHR)–based clinical decision support (CDS) can improve medication safety in pediatric care, where dosing is especially complex because it must account for age, weight, and developmental differences. The authors describe how CDS tools—such as dosing calculators, alerts, order sets, and monitoring prompts—can help reduce prescribing errors, but they also emphasize that poorly designed systems can create new problems like alert fatigue and workflow disruption.
