The CATCH program consists of a pragmatic trial at 6 hospitals in New York City (NYC), conducted in collaboration with the NYC public hospital system (H + H) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH). The study utilizes a stepped-wedge cluster randomized design to determine the impact of CATCH on opioid treatment outcome in comparison to usual care for a control period, followed by a 12-month intervention period and a maintenance period. CATCH includes inpatient services, post-discharge care, and technical assistance. The primary aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of CATCH for increasing medication for addiction treatment (MAT) initiation and engagement among patients with opioid use disorder (OUD).
